Weekly Fish Report for week ending: March 25, 2007

Water: 70 –73 degrees clear and flat.
Air: Mid 80’s Beautiful

The fishing has improved this week. Striped Marlin are biting with dorado and tuna also taken. Wide open inshore for roosters, jacks, snapper and cabrilla. Beautiful spring weather with flat water. Lots of bait throughout the bay.

Striped Marlin: Really opened up this week, with tailers everywhere. The marlin are biting aggressively two miles off the ranch in blue water. The fishing improves further offshore to 10 miles out. Hitting live mackerel. Most boats taking and releasing limits.

Dorado: Mixed in with marlin. Not wide open this week, but a good bite. Some good size to 37#. Mostly taken on trolled lures.

Yellowfin: In and out. Under porpoise 10 to 20 miles off the light house. Taken mostly on cedar plugs. Larger fish on live mackerel to 60 lbs.

Inshore: A wide open gallo bite. The roosters are mixed in with jacks, snappers and cabrilla. It’s better south of La Ribera. Some big fish for this early in the year.
