| Weekly Fish Report for week ending: March 25, 2007
Water: 70 –73 degrees clear and flat.
Air: Mid 80’s Beautiful
The fishing has improved this week. Striped Marlin are biting
with dorado and tuna also taken. Wide open inshore for roosters,
jacks, snapper and cabrilla. Beautiful spring weather with
flat water. Lots of bait throughout the bay.
Striped Marlin: Really opened up this week,
with tailers everywhere. The marlin are biting aggressively
two miles off the ranch in blue water. The fishing improves
further offshore to 10 miles out. Hitting live mackerel. Most
boats taking and releasing limits.
Dorado: Mixed in with marlin. Not wide open
this week, but a good bite. Some good size to 37#. Mostly
taken on trolled lures.
Yellowfin: In and out. Under porpoise 10
to 20 miles off the light house. Taken mostly on cedar plugs.
Larger fish on live mackerel to 60 lbs.
Inshore: A wide open gallo bite. The roosters
are mixed in with jacks, snappers and cabrilla. It’s
better south of La Ribera. Some big fish for this early in
the year. |
