Archived Fish Reports
November 2011
Week Ending November 23, 2011
Water- Cooler..84-88..Clear..better fishing this week
with the colder water.
Air- Cooler days.. some rain yesterday..Very pleasant.
If you pick your fight, the fishing this week has improved.
Anglers targeting billfish have had a big week. An
even mix of Sails and Stripers just off the la Ribera bank
has been giving E Cape anglers plenty of action. The
Dorado bite this past week has also been the best we have
experienced this year. Mostly smaller schooling fish,
mixed with some nice bulls. Inshore fishing is good
with lots and lots of small and medium sized Gallos along
southern beaches. An occasional Yellowfin is being
taken amongst the Dorado and billfish..Most Leonero boats
have been fishing south of the hotel. The cooler water
is definitely helping the fishing.
Billfish- Very consistent fishing, anglers targeting
billfish are almost guaranteed to release at least one Sail
or Striper daily, with most enjoying multiples. The
fish are congregated on the ledge just off La Ribera.
The fish are sticking with large bait schools just off the
ledges. Drift fishing with the motor off, using live
Mackerel and Caballito working best. Hotel boats are
releasing Blues this week as well.
Dorado- Not a great Dorado fishing year, this last
week however has been the exception. Lots of smaller
schooling fish from La Ribera to the Light house.
Big Bulls are being picked up around the Marlin bite.
A pretty decent week for Mahi Mahi..Most taken while drift
fishing with live bait.
Various- We have had at least a Wahoo a day to the
cleaning table, the largest this week 50#'s.. Anglers
are picking up the occasional Yellowfin to 30#'s, mixed with
the Dorado and billfish.
Inshore- Lots of small to medium Roosterfish.
Jack Crevalle are schooling up and down the beaches.
Lots of Pargo to 25#'s taken this week.
Gracias..

Water- Cooler 81-84, clear some midday breezes.
Air- Cooler highs in the 80's, very pleasant..
Good fishing this week. A very consistent billfish
bite mixed with decent Dorado fishing, has made for some
pretty good fishing this week. Inshore lots of larger
Roosterfish mixed with more Pargo than we have seen all
year. The water is cooling and there is lots of bait
in the area.
The billfish are close. Off the La Ribera bank ranch
anglers are releasing multiple fish daily. About an
even mix of Stripers and Sails taking mostly drifting live
Mackerel and Caballito. Schooling Dorado in the 5 to
15# range are abundant with anglers taking limits.
Inshore, the Gallos are much bigger this week, with 50#ers
being released daily. Some really nice Pargo are
coming in daily, and Jack Crevalle are abundant, moving up
and down E Cape beaches..
Billfish- Very good consistent Striped marlin and
Sailfishing. Very close to the hotel, off the La
Ribera drop-off. Drifting or slow trolled live bait
are producing at least one and normally multiple releases.
About a 50/50 mix.
Dorado- Smaller schooling do-do's in the 5 to 15 pound
range are common. In the same areas as the Marlin and
closer to the beach south around the light house. Live
sardine working best.
Inshore- Big Gallos, lots of Pargo and unlimited Jacks
inside..Lots of action. Live sardine working best.
Anglers of the week..
