The
dive sites were pulsating with life, ever increasing
numbers of Yellow Snapper seem to light up the reef with
their glow. Large Dog Snapper were to be found amidst
them, several huge Goliath Grouper were spotted further
away. " I've never seen so many Moray Eels," commented
one of our guests after the dive, "every time I turned
my head I saw another! "
Three different types of
Nudibranch were found yesterday, none of which I had
ever seen before; a mating pair was the highlight of my
day! I looked them up in my reference book but was
unable to get a match, I'm awaiting a photo from one of
our guests which will help to identify it.
Bottom temperatures of 79' Fahrenheit and visibility
ranging from 30 - 60 feet made for comfortable easy
diving in Cabo Pulmo Marine Park yesterday. Different
types of plankton have been swept in by the warming
currents causing our visibility to be obscured as we
passed through it hence the wide range of visibility
recordings. One type of plankton looked just like coarse
hairs floating past in the water, none of us had seen it
before.
